Abstract

The article is the result of generalizing many years of experience in reviewing the works of participants in the Small Academy of Sciences contests on religious studies, as well as observations obtained in the process of communicating with university students within religious studies courses. Understanding the problem of forming the ethical basis of the worldview of Ukrainian youth in the context of the war against racism and the information war waged by the ROC leaders is a relevant problem in the field of domestic humanities.
The formation of a patriotic foundation for the ethos of Ukrainian youth is successful if schoolchildren and students are actively engaged in the scientific search for answers to the challenges that currently face the Ukrainian community.
A critical attitude towards religious ideas, teachings and practices offered by the ROC leaders in the context of a full-scale war contributes to the process of national identification of young people. In particular, criticism of the religious fundamentalist narratives of the ROC from the perspective of the ethical value guidelines of Ukrainian spirituality indicates the formation of clear ideas among young scientists about responsibility, justice, courage, heroism, self-sacrifice, mercy, politeness, truthfulness, loyalty, self-control, etc.
The article argues that the formation of the ethos of Ukrainian youth today is significantly influenced not only by the established ethos of national culture, but also by the ethos of war as a set of values that determine moral priorities during warfare and support its morality and legitimacy. The ethos of war, based on the traditional values of Ukrainian culture, simultaneously reformats its meaningful narratives, highlighting those that ensure freedom and independence for the Ukrainian state. Sacred values play an important role in wartime, directly influencing the formation of Ukrainian identity and the patriotic attitude of our youth. They are currently under significant threat from hostile religious propaganda, which actively spreads the anti-human narratives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The ethos of the young scientist, formed as a result of a critical analysis of the activities of the Russian Communist Party, testifies to the ability of the younger generation not only to critically perceive and refute the deceptive narratives of the "Russian world", but also to reformat the spiritual values of our people in accordance with the challenges of today. This is convincing evidence of the ability of Ukrainians to survive in the hardships of history.
