THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF RESEARCHING THE CONCEPT OF UKRAINIAN UNITY DURING THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of national unity among the Ukrainian people in the context of a full-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The article provides a theoretical generalization and conceptualization of the current practical dimension of the concept of “national unity”, considering changes in worldview orientations and security dimensions of the modern Ukrainian socio-cultural space, and draws attention to the change in the paradigm of national identity in the conditions of armed conflict and threats to the existence of statehood. The author analyzes the transformations of public consciousness, the activation of historical memory, the strengthening of cultural and linguistic consolidation as factors of a new wave of self-awareness of the Ukrainian nation.
The concept of the unity of Ukrainianness is considered as a complex interdisciplinary phenomenon that combines elements of historical continuity, linguistic identity, political loyalty and cultural integrity. The key factor is creating a common socio-cultural space that fosters horizontal solidarity within society, grounded in the dominant values of national identity. An important basis for the further reproduction of Ukrainianness in Ukraine and abroad are the substantial and spiritual heritage and ethno-national traditional dimensions, which form the basis of the national existence of Ukraine and allow us to feel a constant connection with the Motherland. Methodologically, the article is based on a historical-cultural, sociological, discursive, and psychological-communicative analysis.
The study, based on theoretical and methodological developments in the humanities, substantiates the phenomenon of Ukrainian unity in wartime as a system of worldview, "sense of belonging", collective responsibility for the future, the experience of preserving one's own identity, as a mechanism for Ukrainian cultural preservation. Considerable attention is paid to the role of culture, art and civil society in forming a common symbolic space and a strategy of cultural resistance. It is determined that the unity of Ukrainians in wartime appears not only as a reaction to an external threat, but also as evidence of the maturity of a national project, which requires further research in the post-war period with an emphasis on integration and preservation of consolidation potential.
