Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the problem of memorialization of the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war, starting in 2014 and continuing to the present day. The author analyzes the established, effective ways of preserving the memory of the war, namely: the creation of digital archives and online platforms, memorials, monuments and murals, documentaries and feature films, public and religious rituals, recording memories in blogs and diaries, prose and poetry, etc. It is emphasized that the use of the method of auto-fiction in literature opens up wide opportunities for memorializing the events of the war. It is noted that this genre is quite popular in European and world literature, but domestic writers are just beginning to work in this genre, and as a result, literary criticism and general humanitarian discourse on the genre of auto-fiction are only just being formed.
It is argued that works written in the genre of autofiction have both their advantages, strengths, and certain problems of interpretation. The author emphasizes the perspectives offered by the genre, namely: the ability to present not only the essence of events, but also to convey the deep inner experiences of the hero, to see the war not only as an external conflict, but also as an internal one; the ability to highlight emotions with a high level of authenticity, not only describing traumas, but also comprehending them. The latter can help to overcome the consequences of war, which at first glance may seem hidden, as auto-fiction is an important way to transform personal pain into an artistic form that allows not only the author but also the reader to find a way to healing. On the other hand, it is noted that autofiction also has certain limitations and problems in its application, which can negatively affect the effectiveness of memory preservation, as it creates risks of losing historical accuracy due to selective coverage of events and certain ethical conflicts. The author emphasizes the need for further development of the genre, which has become an important practice that allows exploring the subtle boundaries of literature and historical truth, fiction and personal experience.
