Tetiana Voropayeva

Abstract

Under the terms of Russian undeclared hybrid war against Ukraine, the problem of consolidation of Ukrainianness (as a transboundary, trans-State and transcontinental community) is actualized. There is growing interest in studying the conditions, factors and mechanisms for such consolidation. After all, the problem of consolidation of Ukrainianness in the post-colonial era is one of the key issues in modern Ukrainian studies. It is necessary to recognize between different levels of integrity (complexes, synthesis and integration) which correlate with multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary methodological strategies, cause of Ukrainian studies are established as an integrative science today. An integrated approach involves searching for a common term to define all processes of a unifying nature (rallying, consolidation, integration, solidarization), which take place in the Ukrainian environment. Such a common concept is the term «conjunctive processes» (as opposed to «disjunctive processes»). In post-colonial States consolidation is fastest and easiest at the micro-level, and most difficult – at the macro-level (due to the low level of public trust and social responsibility, due to insufficiently developed civil society etc.) The newest history of Ukraine shows that consolidation at the meso- and macro-levels in the post-colonial Ukrainian society is hampered by the inadequate level of self-organization of citizens in many regions of the State, the lack of constructive vertical ties between citizens and the authorities, the authoritarian nature of public administration, the existence of inadequate socio-political representations, mentality deformations, worldview and human behavior in the conditions of colonialism and neo-colonialism. The main factors of the cross-border consolidation of Ukrainianness are common archetypes and ideas, goals and values, needs and interests, horizontal collectivism, mutual trust and mutual assistance, common tasks and activities, common memory and identity, patriotism, national idea, dialogical relationships, co-operative interaction, developed civil society, authoritative (notoligarchic) elites, democratic style of leadership and governance, common enemy etc. It is very important the domination of conjunctive practices over the disjunctive, as well as the balance of the vertical and horizontal directions of conjunctival processes. The deployment of conjunctival processes contributes to attracting accumulative, savings, translational, cognitive, affective and behavioral mechanisms (affiliation, adaptation, attraction, identification, categorization, rituals, socialization, expectation, empathy, suggestion, imitation, emotional infections, empathy, persuasion, deep communication, norms and meanings etc.).

Key words: consolidation, cohesion, integration, inclusiveness, conjunctive processes, Ukrainianness, citizens of Ukraine.
