Migration Processes in Postcolonial Era

Abstract


The article deals with the phenomenon of postcolonial migration. In particular, the example of the former SovietUnion studied specifics of migration processes in post-colonial days, prominent features of postcolonial migrants, their differencesfrom other groups of workers.The collapse of the Soviet Union, causing significant changes in the migration situation in the region. The result was thedestruction of artificially isolated system migration of the former USSR. The fall of the «iron curtain» around the former empire gavecitizens a new opportunity – to visit previously inaccessible countries far outside once the largest country in the world. At the sametime, a new reality: the former Soviet Union are moving crowds of migrants who previously classified as internal migrants, nowtransformed into citizens of different countries and so on migrant foreigners. However, states of the former empire seen on the first dayof the new migrants fraternal republics, as for example, migrants from outside the region.Streams of people from the former imperial periphery to the center of the former Soviet Union period, which is the heir andsuccessor of the metropolis, fits into the concept of post-imperial migration. This concept sees the origins of migration is in thedisintegration of the former empire, and explains the high intensity of migration between the periphery and the center of existence in  The signs and characteristics of post-imperial states include abnormal demographics, ethnic conflicts and tensions, endlessstreams of refugees; increase self-start the process of decolonization and re-emigration, intensification of integration processes, aswell as intensification of immigration processes, which caused economic problems. Being on the rails peaceful and independentdevelopment of new state traditionally try to avoid ethnic conflict and ethnic conflicts. At the same time, the colonists in the new statesis often perceived not as representatives of national minorities, but as a foreigner. They are often overwhelmed with nostalgia for the«great empire», «country that we lost», of which they are accustomed ourselves to believe and involvement which allowed pain to feelimportant element in world order. Citizens also perceive new states colonists as part of the former empire. Post-imperial situation inthe country, which became the successor of the former empire, «a great power that has disappeared from the political map of theworld» transformed into neoimperial, neokolonial foreign and domestic policies.The article discusses the importance of migration issues for postcolonial society, focuses on the importance of adequateresponses to historic challenges of postcolonial era.
