To the Problem of Colonial Status of Ukraine in the USSR

Abstract

The author analyzes several essential features of the phenomenon “colony of European type”, which Ukraine had in the USSR by Stalin period. The article is widely used statistical data that proves the validity of determining the status of Ukraine as a colony, and certifies inequality of Ukrainians in Soviet Union in 1930-50th. The author rejects the idea, provided by some historians, who claim that Ukraine was an active co-founder of the totalitarian Soviet Union and it ruled most Ukrainian responsibility for the crimes of totalitarian and fully carries with Ukrainian.
