UKRAINIAN STUDIES PRIORITIES OF MODERN EDUCATION AS A FACTOR IN THE FORMATION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY OF STUDENTS

Abstract
Abstract. The article explores modern approaches to the formation of national identity of students based on the analysis of materials from the 5th International Competition for Teachers “Ukrainian Studies Priorities of the Educational Process”. The role of Ukrainian Studies as an integrative educational branch in the process of national-patriotic education in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war is revealed. The topics, content and methodological features of competitive lessons and educational activities are analyzed, the main thematic areas and their quantitative ratio are determined.
The dominance of the humanitarian and value component, focused on the formation of historical memory, cultural continuity, civic responsibility and patriotism, is revealed. Innovative trends in the development of Ukrainian studies practices are outlined, in particular the integration of interdisciplinary approaches, digital technologies and modern educational methods. The conclusion is made about the growing role of Ukrainian studies as a factor in the consolidation of Ukrainian society and the formation of national resilience of youth.
The materials of the 5th International Competition for Teachers “Ukrainian Studies Priorities of the Educational Process” testify to the significant potential of modern schools in shaping the national identity of young students. The leading mechanisms of this process are: education of patriotism and civic responsibility, actualization of historical memory, linguistic and cultural self-identification; involvement in folk tradition, understanding of war as an experience of national resilience, combination of local and all-Ukrainian memory, use of innovative educational formats.
