Abstract

The article considers the influence of war as a deep socio-cultural crisis on the transformation of museum practices and narratives, approaches to the interpretation of cultural heritage, including mentefacts, disclosure of communication capacity of artifacts. The author's attention is focused on the example of the Borys Paton State Polytechnic Museum at the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky” not only because of her employment site in it, but also because the educational potential of technical museums practics is still less studied than artistic or historical ones. The museum practices researched in the article are concentrated in the direction of the fullest and more conscious use of the upbringing potential of the non-humanitarian direction museum. Since a particular museum is one of the largest museums in Ukraine – has almost 24 thousand artifacts in its collection – and the largest university museum at the same time, it prompted the author to think about the dichotomy “Higher Education and Upbringing Process”, as well as the relevant names of museum's department that manage services for visitors ("Enlightenment", "Excursion", "Mass events", "Educational").The author belives that education, and especially higher education, aims at professionalization (level “pre-professionalism” and “professionalism”, and the other two levels are a matter of applying the obtained profession in action). The upbringing as an aspect of higher education is to provide further high productivity and effectiveness as well as the background of maintaining mental and physical health of labors. These purpose are comply with the principles of “Related Labor”, “Labor from Love” and “Ikigai". At the same time, in each of these principles the author finds a whole range of tangent installations. For example, she is deeply convinced that labor from love can only happen in high civic culture, the manifestation of which is the care of the common good, evaluating his own contribution to him, influence on the environment. The only way of activating to action from the state of love and happiness is the moral need to start working only after an interpretation of its meanings that lead to positive motivation has been found. Caring of the museum's future encourages the director to be attentive to the needs of visitors - and she has involved a marketing and non-formal education specialists to manage changes in product and communication policies, going beyond the purely history of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute and the history of technology and technology, strengthening the implementation of the educational potential.
