Abstract


The article-research of Dr. Yun Shun Suzi Chung, dedicated to modern interdisciplinary practices of museum work (communication of museum collections during visits to the museum and beyond), in which poetics and geopolitics are present, is analyzed. The article attracted attention with its emphasis on the combination of marketing and poetic principles in museum communications with the awareness of their participation in the creation of the geopolitical context, as well as the author's application of Jean Baudrillard's concept to the theoretical analysis of modern exhibition practices like museum communication and marketing as well. The personality of the author of the article is of particular interest, because she tranlates a cross-cultural point of view - being a Korean woman who has been educated in Europe and teaching in the USA. Dr. Yun Shun Susie Chung is currently Adjunct Faculty in the History/Social History Graduate Program and Chair of the Liberal Arts Department at Southern New Hampshire University. She has a doctorate in the field of archaeological heritage and museums (2002), and a master's degree in museology (1997). listed on the Who‘s Who Among America‘s Teachers, 10th Edition Honoring Our Nations Most Respected Teachers 2005/2006. Research and projects have been manifested in articles published in international journals which include the Journal of the History of Collections, International Journal of Heritage Studies, Collections: A Journal for Museums and Archives Professionals and the International Council of Museums‘ International Committee for Museology‘s Study Series.
