New Defensive (Military) Policy Realm as a Possible Consensus of Political Forces in Ukraine

Abstract

The face of existential threats over Ukrainian society as a result of aggressive war waged by Russia, which has a content plan for undermining the unity of Ukrainian society, making a deep split between the government and civil society structures, a young Ukrainian political nation is actively seeking factors strengthening of consolidation. The causes fragmentation of social forces are in the political arena, but different areas of policy instruments with their inherent difficulties to create a common platform for action of social forces. The economic policy that caused material interests of business elites, not soon become a factor in the integration of all social groups, and social policies of populist projects undermines confidence in the ability to master the art of "real politician." On the contrary, the new defense policy of Ukraine appointed explicitly vector create a system of collective security of European countries to counter Russian aggression can consolidate Ukrainian society. After a period of multidirectional efforts to please all the countries - neighbors, forgetting about their own safety, it is time to prioritize security and defense, to join the common European foreign and defense policies.
