The Religious Factor in the Hybrid Wars (the Activity of the Association of Believers of the Ukrainian Native Faith (ORU) as an Example)
Abstract
In the article on the example of Association of the Believers of the Ukrainian Native Faith (ORU) is considered as hybrid war, particularly its information component that shook the Ukrainian society. The importance of the religious factor in the fight against the aggressor, integrating and disintegrating roles of religion in hybrid war are highlighted. The main activities of ORU in terms of hybrid warfare, in terms of aggressive Russian anti-Ukrainian propaganda as in Ukraine and abroad is considered. In particular, attention is focused how the representatives of ORU represented situation in Ukraine at Generic Slavonic council (GSC) – pagan’s international meeting organized from 2003 to exchange experiences and information on the activities of similar organizations in different European countries. Is showed how Russian pagans, GSC members, answered on the ABUNF report about the role and participation of Russia in the war against Ukraine. Reflection of themes of war in the work of the Gentiles, taking part of the Gentiles in the Revolution of dignity and fighting in eastern Ukraine are covered.
